Purpose of Position:

The Project Manager (PM) fulfills a vital role in R&D and reports directly to the R&D Manager. The PM must maintain visibility and actively manage the successful and timely completion of all assigned development projects. The PM is involved in every stage of the development life-cycle and ensures that all team members and stakeholders follow the agreed process. Project status is regularly communicated to stakeholders. The PM continuously measures and improves the release development process.

The PM is responsible for knowing the “who, what, where, when and why” of the software project. This means knowing the stakeholders of the project and being able to effectively communicate with each of them.

The Project Manager is also responsible for creating and managing the project schedule as well as processes including scope management, issues management, and risk management.

Experience we’re looking for:
  • At least 3 years of relevant software development project management experience
  • Experience working in an Agile organisation
  • Jira experience is required
    1. Maintaining projects, workflows, schemas, fields, etc.
    2. Generating filters, dashboards, and reports
    3. Day to day administration of work items and issues
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software
  • Track record of delivery in an software development organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience required:
  • At least 3 years of relevant software development project management experience
  • Jira (or equivalent system) experience is required

  • Reporting and Process Improvement
  • Help define and implement KPIs that measure the success of the process
  • Generate regular reports to management of defined KPIs
  • Continuously identify process gaps / issues and implement changes to address these
  • Collaborate with Development and Product Management on roadmaps, release planning and timelines
  • Collaborates with the team on work schedules to meet customer commitments and deadlines.
  • Communicate project timelines and changes to stakeholders
  • Internal VSC stakeholders
  • Customers, where applicable.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the delivery of development projects
  • Be the primary point of contact with customers on “customer projects”
  • Ensure there is customer sign-off before development starts
  • Track customer testing and acceptance
